Dec. 4-8

In math this week, we continued a new unit on data management. . We reviewed line graphs, scatter plots and pie graphs.  Students also learned how to calculate the average of data, finding the mean, median and mode.

In social studies the grade 5's worked on their rant on a Canadian social or environmental issue.  The grade 6's watched a video on biodiversity.

In language, students evaluated their posters to advertise a healthy product. Students continued to work on their second independent writing, and we also began to  look at the text form of persuasive writing. Students are learning how to form an argument using a main idea, and supporting points.
