In math this week students solved patterning problems that involved geometry and rates. We will have a patterning and algebra quiz on Monday, then begin a new unit on fractions and decimals.

In language we continued with literature circles; students met twice in their groups to discuss the book that they're reading. We also had a workshop on Shakespeare, which was a fun introduction to understanding and appreciating his work. Additionally, students finished presenting their health/media/oral communication project on alcohol or drugs.

In science the grade fives  presented their power point on a topic related to human health. The grade fives also had a Scientists in the School workshop on forces and structures. The grade sixes presented their power points on biodiversity. In phys. ed. we continued our new unit on gymnastics. In health we began to talk about healthy relationships, including how to deal with peer pressure and how to resolve conflict.
