In math this week students solved problems involving algebra, solving for unknown variables. They also solved patterning problems that involve geometry. We will continue with patterning and algebra next week.

In language we continued with literature circles; students met twice in their groups to discuss the book that they're reading. Students also finished their January independent writing and submitted it. Additionally, students worked on and presented their health/media/oral communication project on alcohol or drugs.

In science the grade fives are researching a topic related to human health and creating a power point. Many students presented their power points, which were very well done! The grade sixes had scientists in the school and learned about biodiversity. They will present their power points on Tuesday. In phys. ed. we began a new unit on gymnastics.
