April 9-13

In math this week, students learned how to draw the front, side and top views of 3D figures. Grade 6 students also focused on creating isometric drawings of 3D figures. Additionally, we reviewed the difference between pyramids and prisms, and students identified and created nets of different solids.

In language, students continued to write ebooks on the topic of diversity. Here is that website: https://sites.google.com/tdsb.on.ca/bffgallery/home.

 

In science the grade 5's explored different types of energy sources, and evaluated which ones are the best for the government to invest in. Grade 6 students continued to learn about space.

In art students finished their project in which they were creating a work of art that answers one or more of our inquiry questions, with a focus on using the creative process.

 

Homework:

 

1) Grade 6 students: finish the number sense section of your EQAO practice book
2) Complete the math and worksheet on apostrophes.
3) Complete the reading on Ontario Trades
4) Go on the website on the blog called, "transformational geometry games," and practise your skills.
5) Go on Dancemat typing and practise typing for 10 minutes daily.
6) Read for 20-30 minutes daily.
