March 26-30

In math this week, students continued to focus on number sense, with a specific focus on decimals. Students reviewed all decimal concepts and wrote a quiz which will be returned next week. Students also learned about rates and ratios, and solved problems involving rates and ratios. We will be moving on to transformational geometry next week.

In language, students finished with their literature circles. They completed a self evaluation of their participation, and will hand in their role sheets next week. Students also read an EQAO text and answered multiple choice and short answer questions. This is practise for the grade 6's, and an extra challenge for the grade 5's.

In science the grade 5's began to study energy transformation and conservation. Grade 6 students continued to learn about space.
