In math this week students solved problems involving transformational geometry and sketching 3-D figures. Students wrote a math quiz on Friday that will go home on Monday to be signed. Our next unit is measurement.
In language students wrote a reading quiz that will go home on Friday to be signed and returned. We also worked on the correct use of pronouns. Students were introduced to a new language/ social studies project involving expository writing and research.
In science grade fives continued their project on energy. They are designing and building a toy, device or product that transforms energy. They will then create a TV commercial to sell it. Grade sixes are learning about electricity and will work on a similar project.
In phys. ed. we continued to practise track and field skills and began a new unit on soccer. We will go back and forth between soccer and pickleball over the next few weeks.

Homework:
Read for at least 20 minutes every day.
Practise the 6 and 7 times tables.
Complete the homework package sent home, which includes: a geometry review, a reading passage with questions and a writing activity.
