In math this week students solved problems involving rates and ratios. Next week we will work on problems involving transformations. These will include translations, reflections and rotations. Next week the students will also write the math contest on Wednesday.
In language students continued to write and practise their persuasive speech. Speeches will be presented the week after the Easter long weekend.
In science grade fives presented their projects on a natural disaster, with a corresponding design and build project. Grade sixes are learning about electricity.
In phys. ed. we wrapped up a unit on badminton. In art students created posters to advertise Mental Health week, and some students submitted their posters to a TDSB contest. Finally, we attended a full day workshop on hip hop at Harbourfront. Students learned about the different elements of hip hop, including break dance.

Read for at least 20 minutes every day.
