In math this week, students reviewed concepts in fractions. Students wrote a short quiz on Friday, to check comprehension, which will be returned on Monday. We will be moving forward in number sense to a unit on decimals. I will also offer additional lessons on fractions, either at lunch or after school for students who need more consolidation.

In language, students are working with our student teacher, Ms. Ana. She is delivering a cross curricular unit around the question, "How should people treat each other?" They read the book "Wings" and are now writing an alternate version. Students also worked in groups to create mandelas that show belonging.

In science the grade 5's presented their Bill Nye inspired lessons on the states of matter. The students did a great job of engaging and teaching their peers with exciting presentations! Grade 6 students had scientists in the school on the topic of space.
